ORIGINAL SPEARCREST DESIGN
The Spearcrest Pauldrons were developed as an original Old Line Crafts & Designs pattern specifically to coordinate with the Spartan Warrior Armor Series.

The design is a Spartan-inspired fantasy and costume interpretation. It is not represented as an archaeological reproduction, historical museum reproduction, movie or television costume replica, video-game armor replica, franchise character pattern, or copy of another commercial leather pattern.

LEATHER RECOMMENDATIONS
Main armor: approximately 5-7 square feet of 8-11 oz vegetable-tanned leather for the shoulder yokes, upper lames, middle lames, and lower lames.

Straps, tabs, and overlays: approximately 1.5-2 square feet of 5-7 oz vegetable-tanned leather, or suitably skived heavier leather.

Bonus embellishments: depending on the options selected, small quantities of 2-7 oz leather or suede may be used.

TYPICAL HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
The main build uses approximately 40-56 double-cap rivets or equivalent, 4 Line 20 snap sets, 4 three-quarter-inch roller buckles, optional Chicago screws, and optional decorative medallions/conchos.

Hardware is NOT included. Always select rivet, snap, and screw post lengths appropriate for the actual thickness of your leather stack.

ADJUSTABLE FIT
The Spearcrest Pauldrons are designed as an adjustable one-size-fits-most adult costume pattern. The design uses an adjustable front bridge strap, adjustable rear bridge strap, and adjustable left/right underarm straps.

The intended shoulder-span range is approximately 15-22 inches. Body shape, clothing layers, leather thickness, and wet-forming affect final fit. A paper or craft-foam mockup is strongly recommended before cutting expensive leather.

PATTERN ACCURACY
The digital pattern geometry has been checked for alignment. Features include mirrored left/right yoke geometry, matched Spearcrest overlay stitch locations, matched overlay rivet centers, consistent articulation-hole positioning, 1-inch
articulation-tab hole pitch, matched underarm strap anchor spacing, full-size US Letter layout, and 1-inch test squares for print verification.

Digital geometry verification does not replace physical leather prototyping. Leather changes shape during wet-forming, and individual leather thickness, hardware, and body shape can affect final fit. Always make a paper mockup first and test-fit parts
before permanent hardware is set.

SKILL LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE
Best suited to makers comfortable with cutting heavy vegetable-tanned leather, punching accurate holes, setting rivets, installing Line 20 snaps, installing buckles, wet-forming leather, edge beveling and burnishing, reading full-size leather
patterns, and performing basic fit adjustments.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Pattern sheets are formatted for US Letter 8.5 x 11 inches.
Print at 100% / Actual Size. Do not use Fit to Page, Shrink to Fit, Scale to Fit, automatic enlargement, or borderless enlargement.
Measure the included 1-inch test square with a physical ruler before tracing any pattern onto leather. If it does not measure exactly 1 inch, correct the printer or PDF-viewer settings before continuing.

BONUS CUSTOMIZATION PACK
Want your pauldrons to look different from everyone else’s? The included Bonus Customization Pack lets the buyer personalize the base design with optional decorative components.

• Commander Style: add medallions, border overlays, and short rear tassels.
• Ceremonial Style: add scalloped overlays, detailed tooling, medallions, and longer fringe.
• Clean Warrior Style: use subtle border accents and tooling while keeping hardware and decoration minimal.

The bonus embellishments are optional and are not required to build the base pauldrons.

SMALL-SHOP MAKER LICENSE INCLUDED
The buyer MAY use the pattern for personal builds, make finished physical pauldrons using the pattern, sell finished pauldrons personally made in a home or small-shop setting, and incorporate the bonus embellishments into finished pauldrons they make
and sell.

The buyer MAY NOT resell either PDF, share or upload the digital files, distribute printed copies, include the pattern in another digital product, or redistribute modified digital versions. Copyright remains with Old Line Crafts & Designs.
