RECOMMENDED LEATHER

• Main armor panels: 8-11 oz vegetable-tanned leather.
• Straps and tabs: approximately 5-7 oz vegetable-tanned leather.
• Optional bonus overlays: typically 4-7 oz leather depending on the variation and desired layering.

The PDFs include hardware and tool reference information. Select rivet/screw post lengths and buckle hardware appropriate for your actual leather thickness and prototype.

ADJUSTABLE FIT

The Spearcrest Cuirass uses adjustable shoulder bridges and side straps so the finished armor can be fitted across a range of adult body types. Because body shape, clothing layers, leather thickness, and wet-forming vary, make a paper/cardstock mockup and test fit before cutting expensive leather or setting final hardware.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate leatherworking project.

Recommended experience includes cutting heavy vegetable-tanned leather, accurate hole punching, rivet or Chicago-screw installation, buckle installation, edge finishing, basic wet-forming, and fitting layered leather components.

Approximate build time shown in the pattern: 8-12 hours. Tooling, dye work, antiquing, and bonus customization can add significant time.

PRINTING

– US Letter paper: 8.5 x 11 inches
– Print at 100% / Actual Size
– Do not use Fit to Page, Shrink to Fit, or Scale to Fit
– Measure the 1-inch test square before cutting leather
– Build a paper mockup before committing to your final leather

SMALL-SHOP FINISHED-ITEM LICENSE

You may use the pattern for personal builds and may sell finished physical cuirasses that you personally make in a home or small-shop / limited-production setting.

You may NOT resell, share, upload, copy, translate, redistribute, or include the digital PDF files or printed pattern pages in another product or pattern bundle.

This cuirass is intended for cosplay, theatrical costume, Renaissance-fair wear, photography, display, and non-contact role-play. It is not certified protective equipment and is not impact-rated, ballistic-rated, sport-rated, riding equipment, workplace PPE, or combat armor.
