The Town Watch Shoulder Guards pattern is part of the Commoner Armor Series and is designed for makers who want a rugged, practical shoulder-armor build with a distinctive original construction style. This downloadable pattern creates a matched pair of leather spaulders shaped to work well for costume, LARP, Renaissance fair, display, and reenactment-inspired projects.

Each shoulder guard uses a crown plate and overlapping lower lames connected by hidden leather flex hinges on the back side. This lets the armor articulate with the shoulder while keeping the visible outer face clean and uncluttered. Adjustable underarm straps help secure the fit, and the top anchor tabs allow the guards to be paired with compatible armor pieces such as a jack, gorget, or custom harness.

The current pattern set reflects the v3 image-matched geometry update, so the primary pattern silhouettes correspond more closely to the finished armor shown in the product renderings.

The PDF is intended for print-at-home use on US Letter paper at 100% / Actual Size and includes full-size templates, a 1-inch calibration square, materials and hardware guidance, cut list, assembly instructions, fitting notes, and finishing guidance. The design is suitable for a beginner/intermediate leatherworker who is comfortable with cutting, hole punching, edge finishing, and simple riveted construction.

This is a digital pattern only. No finished armor, leather, hardware, tools, or printed pages are included. Concept renderings are provided as realistic visual references for listing and presentation purposes.
